Trick or Treat!!!!

Today is the launch of the 'Eat Your Heart Out & the PRETOX Potion' event in the basement of Maiden store in Shoreditch high street. It is an artistic / yummy / horror (?!) cake project put together by Emma, a very nice and chic lady. A big collaboration by many cake shops, this special event is just SO HALLOWEEN! Opening by 4 guys with a coffin cake, ended up a cake fight and I think someone really did chop off a finger just to spice things up even creepier! How professional!

I got to say, this actually creeped me out a little bit, even as such a horror fan. The realistic feeling of is just so believable, and these guys must be amazingly good with their hands to create such work with cakes and icing. Just to say I feel a bit rude that I didn't have any of the cake because icing and I are no friends but I appreciate everything from the even in a artistic way; plus I love the alcohol jelly and the drinks. (LOL)

The hearts collection is surely the best I love. It is so BLOODY real, the moistly feeling of it can really convince me this is real. Hey but who know what was the real ingredients...hmm, yum!

Lady of the night, Emma! Featuring Piers Atkinson pearl headband.

This right no time event will be held from 29th - 31st October, 2010.
at

Got to admit that I really am a moody drawer; I sometimes want to burn my sketchbook to ashes when I'm not feeling the drawing. Luckily, so far in this so important final year, this just only happen like few times. A unique style of drawing is the main selling for every illustrator, as far as I remember, I worry too much in the past so I cannot let the drawing flow. But hey, fuck it. I really like my pencil, colourless drawing; I kinda like it soft as well, like it is the only soft moment I would have in my life. You know, angry person needs a way to let go. And I like my ghostly girl, so what.

RED

I think there are a lot of people watch this because Bruce Willis, so am I; well, plus Helen Miller. It is a so-so I should say, there was a part I felt really bored that I almost fall asleep. Seriously I want no talking scene from Willis, just keep on fighting; that will make the film. (LOL) And frankly, I think John Malkovich steal the show! He did a great job of the craziness character; looks over the top but in a good way. Elegant 'Queen' Helen Miller with heavy load weapons, I just love it! After all this is not a great film but an enjoyable one, surely you will have some laugh.

バ一ビカン '30 Years of Japanese Fashion'

Barbican is doing this amazing exhibition of Japanese fashion. I am impressed by this whole collection of work in the show. Many of the work are by Rei Kawakubo, one of the most influential designer in the fashion industry; it doesn't matter cause I like Comme des Garçons. The Japanese designers are all talented with shape, structure. The clothes are not just piece of fabric, it is pure creativity, pure art. Yohji Yamamoto's black and skinny style is fabulous on models. I like it but I'm pretty sure I will never wear it nice. Issey Miyake's crazy gorgeous creation is very origami base. The clothes look like they are made from paper instead of soft material. I'm amazed by one of his collection when clothes folded flat, it is actually like a star. The idea is unbelievable!

Tate Modern ; Ai Weiwei

New exhibition in Tate Modern is on. The LG floor free space is the best love area of Tate Modern. Chinese artist Ai Weiwei using ceramics to create 100 millions of live-scale sunflower seeds, and all of them laying on the floor in Tate Modern. This is really something to look at, the uncountable seeds turn the Tate like a huge playground. People just come in and sat down like they are at home, chill out and have fun; especially the kids you can tell. Used to study ceramics in high school, I know it is not hard work to do all the live-scale seeds but it's the number and to hand paint 100 million seeds!! I'm impressed and admire of his idea.

Lion King Costume Exhibition

I believe every single child from my generation would have watched some Disney's production. Especially girls, all those princess collection (ugh!) From all of the early Disney's work, Lion King must be one of the actually-good made production. The music is good (it's Elton John, of course!) so as the story. To be honest, the best characters from it is not lion king, it's Timon and Pumbaa!
Anyway, it's not the main point. To bring up all these childhood memory is simply I walked pass National Geographic Store today and guess what? Lion King musical costume is in exhibition! You got to admit that the musical is actually better than the cartoon! And it is because of the costume! The designs work as they merge the body and the animal.

Check out the costume and the musical!

watching film or having class?

Hands up if you are same like me that don't have a damn clue what they are talking about in the 'Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps', This goes straight onto my top 10 I-don't-understand movie. Sorry, most of the art students are no friends with numbers. Not to mention I am half brain dead today after whole week of school. I sat in cinema and actually thinking what the f**k are you talking about? It is english they are speaking but there is just no way to understand it.
Ok then, so I will not (or cannot) review the main story bit, how they play with stock market. (I think that is what they are doing, right?) Let's just move on to the real movie base; didn't watch the first one so can't compare really. Shia LaBeouf is getting better in acting though, that's a bit surprise. Maybe he can seriously think about his acting career now. Carey Milligan is the point why I would have watched this in the first place. I love this girl since 'An Education', she is doing a fairly here. Music is so not inspiring, I can't even remember if there's any music to be honest. The stock market line goes down along the New York skyline and Tower Bridge effect is a spot though; ironic?
I think this would be more entertaining if I understand the lines they are saying (LOL), but I think it is enjoyable enough, as I did not get bored even with the blank understanding...(maybe confusion keeps me awake.)

Numbers don't always win

Kelis 'Scream' music video is out. and looking at it, all I can comment is SERIOUSLY?! what are you doing with all those outfit? Not that the outfits are wrong, it's what is going on in the video is SO WRONG. I am a Gaga fan but I'm not saying this just to blindly support her. It really seems to be, after Gaga, everyone, well maybe not everyone, but mostly female singers try to look like Gaga. What is the biggest image of Gaga, FASHION, so girls just pull out whatever outfit they can get a hand on and dress them all up in a music video. I really don't that is a  good idea. Dressing up like 100 outfits in a 4 minutes video doesn't make you a fashion icon.
I'm not being like against Kelis, but this is really annoys me. How come it can be such a pain to watch all those great hats and shoes kind of destroyed in this.

Brick Lane

Sunday is the Brick Lane day! Sunday Up market is my best love, not just the vintage clothes and the great food, but all those little stall of creative crafts work, jewelry and design work are very inspirational. Artist Irma Pellegrini using mini canvas and tiny figure to create everyday life. The result is so simple but lovely.
