Bleu de Chanel

  The new men perfume ad of Chanel is out already, I didn't know until I walk pass a huge poster from window display with Gaspard Ulliel's irresistible face on it. I have been waiting for this ad for ages, since I know the wow combination for it, CHANEL x Gaspard Ulliel x Martin Scorsese.

  Video is in blue tone of course to match the name. For a French label, I would say this video is absolutely feeling New York though. Especially the music, reminds me of 60s, a bit of Andy Warhol, a bit of the film Factory Girl. Gaspard Ulliel is the best person I can think of to represent defective beauty, scar on the face yet looking incredibly perfect. 

Vivienne Westwood Shoe The Exhibition 1973-2010

  Exhibition in Selfridges & Co. basement about Vivienne Westwood shoes. As a fan of Westwood, I ran in there as soon as I can of course. The rocking horse shoe is the reason why I love Westwood. The wedge is amazing, by the time, even today.

  There are dozens of shoes in there plus video of catwalk, very nice. I didn't realize she actually did so many design of shoes. One that quite catchy is Louis Vuitton, I dare say I never feel Louis Vuitton look so nice before, well, except the classic trunk of course.

Posh Weekend

   The lovely weekend started with a little bit of sun, and I brought my London new comer friend, Tina to something she had been longing for, English Afternoon Tea. Sketch is surely my favorite afternoon place, I literally brought whoever haven't try afternoon tea there. Interior of it is one the main point, French style X modern art, that's a big plus. Scone is T's best love, she did a great job finish all the cream with it. I love afternoon tea with all those little lovely cakes and scones; I can eat many of different thing. Relaxing with friends with a nice cup of tea. That's practically a perfect day out.

  We spend the evening to something even posher, BBC proms. Prom 57 is performed by Minnesota Orchestra with Violin Concerto by Berg & Symphony No.9 in D Minor 'Choral' by Beethoven. I definitely like the Beethoven, I'm not big fan of classical music but I do feel it is very beautiful and comforting.

The funny thing is, we are not sitting in the tight seats in the Royal Albert Hall; we got the £5 tickets to go on the top of the hall; and guess what, people having a real good time with the music! Sitting, laying down, drinking, eating their sandwich in lunch box; it feels like indoor picnic with classy music. That is quite something, It's my first time to BBC Proms, it is all new and exciting. I think I will bring some sushi next time I go. (Anyone wants to try this, you need to go to Royal Albert Hall at 5pm and start queuing to get a number and get your cash ready for the ticket.)

Searching my style

  After a nice and full dinner, my drawing mood suddenly gone way up high for no reason. Anyway, I wanted to draw, something, the easiest way is, flip open Vogue Italian, and the first ad I saw - Dior, classy. I've been having some comment on my uncertain style of illustration, well it's true in a way. Though I notice there's always something given or taken in my drawing; never completed lines, big head, and basically there's not complete shape of any part of a body. I wonder if it's my childhood with horror movies doing this, I like to see things in an incomplete presentation style? That maybe a lead, think I should work on that, who knows if I might develop a twist glamor? (And sorry, scanner is not working ATM, so here's the cheap looking shot of the drawing.)

Design Museum - Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2010

  One of the thing I love about London is there are so many museums and galleries that you basically never have enough time to go through all of them. After a nice hour at Borough Market for lunch, I headed to the tiny but great Design Museum. Current exhibition Brit Insurance Designs of the Year include area from big as architecture to small as graphic on papers. but it is the one by The Zimbabwean caught my eye. As art student, surely I know how much I need to spend on those sketchbooks and quality paper. With the global recession, the slogan of "IT'S CHEAPER TO PRINT THIS ON MONEY THAN PAPER", how ironic.

  我喜歡London的其中一個原因是因為這裡有無數的museum和gallery; 你永遠都不夠時間看完它們。地方不大但很展覽水平很好的這個Design Musem目前的展覽是Brit Insurance Designs of the Year。展覽品下至一張紙大至建築都有, 但是這個The Zimbabwean最吸引我。作為藝術學生的我當然知道好品質的畫紙是如何「洛陽紙貴」。當這「把這個印在紙幣上比印在紙上便宜」的標語真的印在紙上，真是有夠諷刺。

The Pretty Reckless @ O2 Academy Islington (London)

  Little J, Taylor Momsen, no matter what you call her, she's definitely one of the most talked about girl at the time. At the age of 17, she already made a success in both acting and singing career.Currently in tour with her band The Pretty Reckless, they did a performance last night (19th, Aug 2010) at the O2 Academy Islington.

  Despite the endless waiting and it was a real quick and short show; I would say I enjoy it. You got to admit it is the power of Gossip Girl to bring her name across the world, but you can't deny she does have some talent in rock music. When she sings, I bet most of us in there actually enjoy the music and her singing instead of seeing it as a fan chasing celebrity activity. It's pure rock last night,not pop star acting rock try to look cool. She did the best at the song My Medicine, everyone sang with her and so did I. I was shock when I first hear how she sing this song, all I feel is rock n roll. So doesn't matter she is acting way order her age which isn't really match or how she style herself like high class hooker, I like how her rock n roll singing and music.



  不論你叫她Little J還是Taylor Monsen，她都是目前最受人注目的女生之一。17歲已經在歌影兩方面發展成功；在8月19晚上她與她的樂團The Pretty Reckless在O2 Academy Islington進行了她們巡迴演唱的London站表演。
  不算那無止境的等待和表演的短暫，我其實非常享受的。無可否認是Gossip Girl讓所有人認識她，但你不可以否認她真的有搖滾樂方面的才能。Taylor演唱的時候，我相信在場的人都是享受著那音樂而不是一個單單最星的活動。那是真真正正的純搖滾，沒有假；不是那些時下當紅就出唱片裝搖滾裝酷的假演唱。她表現最好的是My Medicine，全場合唱，氣氛非常好。第一次聽她的演唱我被她的搖滾唱工所震驚；所以不管她的行為打扮如何跟她不配，我喜歡的是她的搖滾音樂和唱功！
